Questions that make vague care concrete

Copy these into a note. Clear answers matter more than polished claims or a long treatment menu.

Ask the service

These questions work before an office visit, video call or online intake.

  • Who will make the medical decision?
  • What kind of Ohio licence does that person hold?
  • Can I ask that person questions before a prescription is issued?
  • When would the visit need to move in person?
  • How does follow-up work if the plan changes?

As of September 2026, filling in an online form is not wrong in itself. But medical-board guidance says a fixed tick-box form that cannot ask you any follow-up questions is not enough, on its own, to diagnose you or prescribe.

Ask about the medicine and pharmacy

Do not settle for “partner pharmacy” or “FDA registered.” Get details that can be checked.

  • What is the ingredient name (the “generic” name, such as semaglutide rather than the brand Ozempic), and is it injected, swallowed or given some other way?
  • What is this product’s status: approved or compounded?
  • If compounded, why is a made-to-order version being considered?
  • Which pharmacy will make or dispense it?
  • Is that pharmacy licensed to send medicine to Ohio?
  • What name and wording will be on the label?

As of September 2026, a facility or product can be registered with the FDA without being FDA-approved.

Ask about the full price

A low advertised price can leave out the visit, membership, medicine, testing, supplies or shipping.

  • Is the quoted amount for the visit, the membership, the medicine or all of them?
  • Does the price change after an introductory period?
  • Are tests, supplies and shipping separate?
  • What happens to the charge if the clinician decides the product is not appropriate?
  • Will a cash payment be credited to my insurance deductible, the amount I pay each year before my plan starts paying?
